Great Wall Of China | Centre Holidays

After breakfast, explore the Juyongguan Great Wall, one of the ‘Seven Wonders of the World’. The Great Wall of China is one of the seven greatest man-made wonders of the world and is definitely the focal point of China. You will hike along the Great Wall. On the way there, visit a jade store first. In Chinese, jade is pronounced as ‘Yu’, and it has a history in China of at least four thousand years.

The Golden Mask Dynasty Show ($60.00): If you want to watch an original and large-scale Chinese musical drama, you will not miss the ‘The Golden Mask Dynasty’ at the OCT Theater in Beijing Happy Valley. A mythical age in China, the show tells a fairy-tale like story of war, royal banquets and romance. The play has 20 different dance scenes representing a soul-stirring and romantic ‘great love and harmony’ legend!

Take an early flight to Shanghai (Hongqiao Airport). Transfer to Suzhou, This city, which dates back to 514 BC is sometimes called the “Venice of the East”. Visit Lanli Garden where you could treasure the exotic silk embroidery history. Visit the Garden of Master of the Nets, the smallest yet the most delicate landscape garden in Suzhou.

Today you will visit a silk spinning factory where you can enjoy a silk-making demonstration. Transfer to Wuxi. Wuxi is an ancient city richly endowed with nature due to its pleasantly warm and moist climate – it boasts a reputation of being the “Land of Fish and Rice”. Visit the Teapot Museum and famous Nanchang Street.

Boat Ride On The Grand Canal ($40.00): You will be taken on a boat ride on the Grand Canal, which passes through Suzhou. Explore a portion of the world’s longest man-made waterway as you drift along Suzhou Ancient Grand Canal, a part of the World Heritage - listed 1,776 km (1,104 mi) long canal. Built in stages going all the way back to 2,400 years ago, today the canal still buzzes with industrial and agricultural activity. It has played an important role in the development of water conservancy and the economic and cultural exchange between the northern part and the southern part of China.

After breakfast, enjoy the scenery as you pass by Lake Tai, the third-largest freshwater lake in China. Visit the Lihu Park and the largest fresh water pearl center. Transfer to Hangzhou. Hangzhou, one of the six ancient capital cities is the hometown for green tea. Visit West Lake, the most famous attraction in Hangzhou. West Lake was man-made and created after the Chinese people’s love for garden style parks for recreation. Enjoy fish viewing at the flower pond.

Morning starts with an educational stop for a taste of Dragon Well Tea at the Longjing Green Tea village. Later, drive back to Shanghai, the largest city by population in China. Appreciate scenery by walking along the Bund, a mile-long stretch along the Huangpu River. This area is the best place to capture the western influences of the old days.

Night Cruise On The Huangpu River ($50.00): Experience the incandescent beauty of The Bund, Shanghai’s cosmopolitan cultural district, on an evening tour of the waterfront. Accompanied by an expert guide, see the city’s most significant landmarks under the atmospheric cover of darkness; board an evening cruise boat to watch the city sparkle from the shimmering Huangpu River.

Disembark the boat and commence a relaxed stroll around The Bund’s beautiful waterfront; visit the renowned Peace Hotel, an establishment that served as the center of Shanghai nightlife in the 1920s, then hop into a trolley to take a tour that culminates in spectacular views of Nanjing Road.
